Apologies, completely clueless about the subject.

Been suggested to me that there would be some work should I learn to drive a bus/coach.

Can anyone advise me roughly the steps/cost I need to take to go down this route?

(Is there a standard wage/rate? I know it's nor really for this forum! Wouldn't be talking permanent job, just days here and there as a top up on the day job most likely).

    Many thanks.

Assuming you have a B licence. It's theory test and theory CPC for Buses, get lessons and then take the practical D and CPC tests. Costs for the CPC theory are €144, D theory test is €45, D practical is €120 and CPC practical is €152.

Depending on well you drive the bus you should be able to get to test standard with ~6 2 hours lessons, check you local schools for costs.

Money wise, not too sure but the only place that companies can cut costs is on drivers wages, as everything else is going up with no chance of dropping. From talking to some lads minimum wage is about all you'll get without experience, and just above if you have experience.

The wages also depend on whether handling money or not. A driver who simply drives a group from A to B will generally be on a lower rate than one who makes multiple stops and takes fares etc.

Thanks, that's very helpful. Yes, I hold a B license at the moment. Never driven a bus before so would have to try it to see how good/bad I am. Local driver said there is work in our area, doing something is better than doing nothing.
