Ok I have a saorview approved tv which is fairly new and I was wondering how could i connect to the internet? I know a Blu ray player will work but what would be the result? Is there a way of connecting the pc to the tv so i could watch RTE player and such like on the tv. It is not an internet ready tv. Says nothing in the instructions about all this. Some blu rays are cheap enough second hand, but is there a cheaper option?

If the TV has a VGA input or the PC has a HDMI output, then you can
connect the PC to the TV & display whatever internet content the PC can access on your TV.
RTE player will work fine this way.

You can also browse the internet, watch You Tube, etc.
You might need a wireless keyboard & mouse for comfort (if the TV in on a wall).

Some people buy cheap Android mini-PC's just for doing this, check out the bargain forum on boards.
It turns your average TV into an "internet ready TV" for around €50 or thereabouts.
If you get a wireless keyboard/mouse combination then you have more or less (or maybe better) internet features like very expensive internet ready TV's.

Just to note that there is no guarantee that a bluray player will be internet enabled. Some are, but certainly not all of them.

Android mini pcs? Sorry for being stupid, but like a tablet? How will that work? I have a wireless mouse and keyboard.

Have a Google of them; they are little boxes that you plug into your TV that run Android and give you access to web browser, media players, Android apps ect. Some of them are quite good.

I checked it now and get ya! It seems that only the American companies do it online so far, but I must check it out further. But with the wireless keyboard, where would the key for that go, if you had the dongle actually in the space for that? Ok I am dumb technologically but creative! Thanks for your replies.

Ressurrecting an old thread. Ok so I got an android tv woggle but I am having problems activating it. There are no directions with it, only sparse ones. It says to look up the hdmi guide on the tv instructions. I have a saorview Walker tv which I can use my external hard drive with no problem. When I put in the android woggle and connect the usb lead, nothing happens. The menu button on the tv just seems to work with the usb socket. Please help this damsel in distress!

Do you have it connected via the HDMI cable. You don't need to connect it with USB.

The thing goes straight into the hdmi and the usb cable is attached then from that to the usb outlet. It is in now but nothing is activated yet. It says that no device is attached

Is the Android device powered by a plug? The usb cable does not need to be connected to the tv. You need to go to HDMI on your remote(might be more than one HDMI slot) and it will pick up the device if powered on.

It says the Flash player is out of date. Is there any way to upgrade, kinda crap since the yolk is brand new.
