    Hi

I went to the orthodontist yesterday. I have a bad overbite but it looks a lot worse as my front 3 teeth stick out due to some bone loss due to gum disease
I dont care about the overbite at all (it never bothered me before) but I just want the three front teeth back in place. He wont do anything for me unless i have the surgery and there is NO way I can do it. (cost, pain etc).
Anyway I have to go back to my dentist for scaling and root planing. Has anyone been told they had to have surgery and then found an alternative?

    What surgery do you mean?

Maybe, the orthodontist does not see any treatment working without this surgery... There are usually other options and although they might not give the 100% result, if you are willing to accept a compromised result then that's your choice... Maybe get a second opinion
