    Haven't used it but is it metrogolf in Dublin you're going to by any chance?

    I've used metro golf and a crappier version in The Palace bar on Camden St.
    Metro is ok, the one in the pub was terrible.
    i would say that they are better than nothing for the full swing, but for any short game shots they are terrible, actually bad for you.

    I have gone to the Metro Lounge before with my brother and we both thoroughly enjoyed it but I would think it's absolutely zero help to your game.

    Adtmittedly, we were treating it as a social outing and had a couple of drinks and a laugh while playing. Maybe it would be of some benefit if you were taking it seriously but, as Greebo has said, only to shots that require a full swing. Chipping and particularly putting have little or no resemblance to playing the game for real.

    It'd be an alright idea for a work party would ya think?? For 20-30 people? Even if you have no interest in golf you might enjoy it????

    Like I said I brought my brother. He doesn't play golf at all but really enjoyed it. While he doesn't play golf, he does play hurling and a lot of other sports so would be someways interested in swinging at a ball. People with no interest in sport at all would probably be bored although the fact that it is a completely new experience might help them to enjoy it.

    20-30 would probably be far too many because (I think) they only have 4 simulators. Half that number and I would imagine you'd have a great evening though.

    Reading this makes me think it might be a good option for a 13yr old birthday party (him and his friends are keen golfers). Anyone know how much it costs and would it work for a hour or so with 6 to 8 13yr olds.

    St Andrews is a good course to start with - fairly easy. Make sure you set up gimmees inside eith 6 or 10 foot - the putting is impossible and wastes time for poutts shorter than this.

    You also have to remember to aim using the wall monitor and then set the aim for the shot - otherwise it's easy for your aim to be miles off target without watching it.

    Also I've found that it plays about a club longet than normal so if a particular yardage is a 7 iron normally, hit an 8 and you should be spot on :)

    I started my stag night was a great night out. Pints and golf 4 man scramble so the non golfers gould contribute to the score too;

    No idea who won but everyone including the non golfers had a great time. Dunno if its any use for your game but if I won the lotto i definitely would have it in the house

    Thanks for comments people. I went to metro golf in the sportsco building adjacent Shelbourne Park greyhound track. They have some good deals on their website and are well setup for an evening's entertainment. All in all had good fun. No particular help for golf except you can hit maybe nine holes in hour (doin well with 4). Not sur how acurate it is with direction and distance is definately off.

    Would been fine for that 16yr old party but keep in mind there would likely be groups havin a few drinks adjacent them. But if that does not bother ya. If it does try maybe vision golf in swords.

    Someone suggest that it should be setup for gimmie inside 6-10 ft or so. We were setup with 8ft gimmies and that i think is a blessing. Anyone thinking of going should do this I'ld suggest also.

    We played Pinehurst. Difficult course. Probably best let the people there pick a easier course. But there is always the option of a fantasy course :)
