Check the vacuum/breather pipes under the inlet manifold. Very common problem on these.

It's only happening now when you have your foot on break when stopped,

It drops to 500 revs and you feel a slight vibration going through the steering and revs up and down,

Take foot off brake and it stops, really annoying

Definitely sounds like a vacuum leak going to the servo. probable the hose its self that connects the servo the the intake manifold.

No if that's what is wrong it won't be. You could probably do it yourself if you have ever held a screwdriver before.

PCV tubing behind inlet manifold as previous poster mentioned. Common enough fault.
Removes easily enough, so you can check for cracks/leaks before purchasing new part.

Crankcase breather pipe, have just had to change mine 2 weeks ago,was €18 from ford,I removed the Idle air control valve to make it easier to get my hands in to pull off and put new one on so check this also while off and give a clean out.

If its only when you have your foot on the brake its probably the brake vacuum assist leaking. Maybe a valve in it or something. Do your brakes feel 'hard' to press?
