City Centre - Shankill

    Hi everyone

I cycle 3/4 days a week from Shankill to Dublin city centre (IFSC to be specific) It takes me on average 30-40 minutes to get in depending on weather conditions etc. I stick on the N11 until the turn off for Deansgrange and then proceed through to the Merrion Gates and onto the coast road.

Just curious, does anybody else on boards cycle the same route as me and if so how long does this commute usually take you?

    Thanks

    M

I used to do Bray to temple bar everyday, used to take 50 mins on average, I took the N11 all the way and then swung into the city via ste's green/dawson street. I can't stand the deansgrange blackrock route... stopping starting stopping... used to race the 145's all the way from Bray too to keep me interested.

Yes the Deansgrange route can be fruastrating in that regard. Going in all the way on the N11 is more straight forward and safer IMO. The only drawback is the suttle climb from Foxrock Church to White's Cross, after that it's downhill all the way.

Different story coming back in the evening though!

I come in from Greystones to D1 and alternate routes between N11/Ballsbridge/Pearse St. and Deansgrange/Blackrock/Ballsbridge/Pearse St.. I'm rarely trying to post fastest times, but the quickest it has taken is about 1h 5min.

Using the Blackrock bypass is a pain in the arse with heavy traffic, the N11 is a literal pain in the arse with the standard of the cycle path.

I go Shanganagh Road -> Church Road -> Rochestown -> Stradbrook -> Temple Hill -> Rock Road -> Sandymount Strand -> Ringsend Road -> Beckett Bridge. Don't know the time because it's only part of the route, but Senor Google he say it was the quickest.
