Say you were pissed with the thought of leaving all your property’s possession and monies to the people that are expecting to get it … but you / I were thinking of giving it to a good cause

    What would you recommend

Depends on who is expecting to get it. If it's grown kids, then you sit down with them and explain your giving it to a cause you believe in.

If they are small kids, you give it to them and stop being a dick trying to leave your children destitute.

Were you left property/possessions/monies by parents/grandparents?

If you were then it'd be a bit fcukin rich for you to not do the same for your offspring

drop major hints into conversations about who will be getting what and use it to create disharmony, jealousy and anger amongst the family as they turn against each other and plot each others downfall, do it right and this could continue long after your demise

    hilarity ensues

Why would you work hard to create wealth just so you can give it to charity at the end of your life instead of giving it to your kids?

If you really want to piss of those who are expecting it, give it to a random stranger like me. I would be honoured to help.

Give it to a charity to help the homeless (Focus Ireland, Simon Community).

I've a long time to go before I'll be making a will but when I do I certainly wont be leaving anything to my family.

Most of my wealth (property) is in Finland and Finnish law requires that everything be shared equally between my offspring, irrespective of whether they were born in or out of wedlock, adopted, etc., etc.

If I was pissed off with them, the only option left for me would be to write a will beginning with the words: "I, Ellis Dee, being of sound mind, spent the lot on myself before I shuffled off the mortal coil ...";);)

Surely you should tell the kids that you're giving it to charity, unless they start treating you better. Then sit back and relax as the kids compete in their efforts to spoil you.
Then give it to charity anyways, as you'll be too dead to care!

I would recommend starting now looking into the causes that appeal to you, in order to make sure your money will actually go to the cause and not get stuck in bureaucracy.

If I had kids I would be leaving everything to them, other than that I would only leave it to the people who were good to me.

If I did not like any of my family i would pick a local charity that would benefit from it I would not leave it to any of the big charities.

Promise the main heirloom to everyone in secret

add conditions to the will so they have to jump through hoops or it all goes to the cats home, Dan has to give up the gargle for six months, Lisa will only get a cut if she gets married

"and to Joe who wanted to be mentioned in my will - hello Joe "

 Ouch that sounds too painful

But the dumpster would save on funeral expenses leaving more for them to argue about
