I sent a parcel an post on the 4th of October to america. I've sent several packages before with no trouble whatsoever. I was informed today that the package still hasn't arrived!! I believe that I recently threw the receipt away as I thought the package surely had arrived by then. It was over 50 euro to send this package and the stuff inside wasn't cheap either (baby gift for a friend back home!)

Is there any way of getting that tracking number? Or am I screwed without the receipt? Any help would be great, feeling sick over this as money is super tight and there is no way I can afford to replace the package! :(

If you could remember the date you posted it, I'd imagine they would be able to go through the records and find a parcel sent for around 50 euro. I don't know how they sort post in the States but international mail can be very slow sometimes. I had to wait a week for something ordered from France and with the tracking number I could see it spent a few days just sitting in one place and then moving to another, so all hope may not be lost.

Thanks- I'm worried they might say you lost the receipt, your problem not ours! Thankfully I bought it on my laser card and checked my online statement and it says the day of purchase and that it was an post. Hopefully they might have a record of it if I go back to the post office I mailed it from?

You could also get the recipients to check with their USPS office to see if there is an undelivered parcel there for them. One parcel that I recently sent was undelivered ''No answer at address'' according to both the an post & usps websites (as I had the tracking number), but as it turned out they hadn't left the peach slip in the mailbox informing the recipients that they missed a delivery, so this could have happened with your parcel as well, though in this case they were able to quote the tracking number but I'm sure it would still be possible for them to check.

On a couple of other occasions parcels have been sitting in customs for over three weeks before they were eventually delivered, so all might not be lost (hopefully).
