Bike Route Around Blanchardstown

With it being for me the first day now of heading and coming home to work in the dark. My much loved midweek evening spins around the North County where i live are gone. So I'm looking for some decent cycling routes to do on my lunch break around Blanch.

I have tried heading out a few times to the Phoenix park and around Strawberry beds to Lucan to Clonee on the main roads mostly. These roads are ok but quite busy with traffic.

Can anybody suggest some good routes of around 30 or 40k less heavily trafficked around here? I'm thinking probably something on the back roads of Lucan/Leixlip but I am fairly clueless of the roads around this area.

I tried searching on Map my Ride but find it a pain to use. Have got some suggestions from a search of older threads on here but would appreciate any further ideas.

    Hi
try heading to clonee onto dunboyne and out the summerhill road and cut across to maynooth by country roads( mullagh, jenkinstown ), then maynooth back to dunboyne and onto blanch .. check google maps and plan a 40k loop, the roads are generally quiet and flat. best of luck..

Or try heading down to Ratoath via Hollystown and Killbride and then onto Dunshaughlin coming back to Blanch via Clonnee. It's a busy enough road coming back but it's wide and there's a shoulder most of the way if you want to move over.

My commute routes - traffic around lunchtime should be lighter than normal
