    Hi everyone,

First post here so bear with me!.. I'm doing an assignment for college and it's to come up with proposals for the forthcoming budget.. Just wondering does anyone have any good money saving ideas for the government? Especially ideas surrounding child benefit and jobseekers allowance at present.. Any ideas are welcomed!

    Thanks in advance!

I think your meant to come up with the proposals or you've missed the point.

Tell us what you think will happen?

Thank you so much for your help!
But no no, I'm fully aware of the point... Just wondering what ideas other people have in relation to our own!

well considering its overpaid lecturers who will be reading it, the champagne socialists, id say give them what they want to hear! tax the "rich" and other vague rhetoric... Whatever you do, make sure that somebody else pays!

government procurement would be a big one, think I read in the indo the other day though about changes which are due to be brought about shortly. Merging the local authorities etc, cutting number of councillors etc. Another one would be to close and merge small rural national and secondary schools when situation close to one another, pool resources, would lead to smaller class sizes, far better facilities etc. There are endless amounts of ideas...
