I might have stuck around for more of this if it didn't clash with Dawkins on More4 and Panorama on the Beeb.

Wasn't too bad, even though it said basically what any observer of the broadcast media landscape would already know. Smart TV has a huge problem to overcome in this country if its to become the eventual defacto standard - overpriced underperforming BB

the problem is content, or lack of it. The LG and Samsung Smart TV content is utter shiite compared to the UK, and UK is crap compared to the US.

It's NOT broadband, it's copyright and revenue crap....we've got 2.3 million tv watchers and compare that to the UK or US...it's about rights and revenue holding the content back.

Yes we need a major boost to BB speeds for streaming and HD VoD etc. - but that's not the major thing holding back SmTV in the short term.

BTW....tthat couple, those YT clowns upping vids.....

The fact that they left piracy to the last 3-4 minutes is ridiculous, piracy is the main reason we need new business models, i cant count how many studies there are that prove people would be willing to pay for content if only they were given decent alternatives.
Netflix just arrived here but we still have to wait months if not years to get the new tv shows and movies in comparison to american customers. We have no access to hulu or an equivalent service either which is proving hugely popular in the states.
The fact that TV execs still expect people "across the pond" to wait months or in some cases years to watch the new and most popular TV in this day and age is a joke, technology has beaten them and its time the grew up and accepted this fact.
I will keep streaming or "pirating" tv shows until im not treated like a second class customer and allowed view them how and whenever i want to, if they let me do that i will have no problem paying for it.

I haven't seen any mention of 'Media Hint' add-on/extension for Firefox and Chrome/Chromium.

Worth a look for those who like TV ...
