    Hey,

Not sure if it's ok to post this so please feel free to remove if it's not suitable.

I just wanted to share that I stopped smoking on 28/2/12 and have been a nicotine free zone since.

I stopped by reading "the easy way to stop smoking" by Allen Carr. It was my 6th attempt to stop smoking, having smoked for 16 years, usually smoking no less than 25 a day.

Anyway I just wanted to say that I feel 100% better, I used to get pains in my joints and shoulders, sore throats, headaches, giddy legs. Since I stopped smoking I don't get any of those anymore and I'm able to run for the bus!

I enjoy socialising and I was worried about how I would get on around other smokers. The honest to god truth is I NEVER feel tempted, cigarettes just look and smell foul to me now and I wonder how I ever smoked them. I don't have to constantly fight the temptation to smoke, any more than I have to constantly fight the temptation to walk under a bus. Quite simply put, there is no temptation. I’ve found no problems being around smokers since I quit, other than the smell which I really don’t like. I used to think that once I gave up smoking I would be pining forever for a drag. This simply isn't the case, I haven't had a single moment of temptation and I know my life is happy and complete the way it could never be as a smoker.

Weight gain. Ok I will admit I've put on some weight, not a lot but defo a bit. Good news is that I've also taken up yoga so I expect it'll come off in the next while and even if it doesn't, I'd rather be a size 10 and healthy, than a size 8 and smoking.

Mental health. You know the ad "1 in every 2 smokers will die of smoking related diseases". Well when I was smoking that ad scared the cr*p outta me every time I heard it, or any of the stop smoking ads really. The worry would sit in the back of my mind and pipe up every now and again and say “you bloody mug, you’ll have only yourself to blame if you get cancer”, it was awful and I found myself to be quite stressed from it, as much as I would squish that voice, the worry was always there. Now every time I hear the ads I feel great and thank my lucky stars that me and my fiancée (he stopped with me) have managed to escape the trap of nicotine addiction and can hopefully live for a long time yet to come. I really think smoking is bad for your mental health, it makes you feel down on yourself as well as lethargic, so I feel happier since I stopped too.

So anyway guys, from someone who wished with all her heart to stop. I have! I’ve done it : ) And it is wonderful.

If you haven't already then I'd try the "Easy way to stop smoking" by Allen Carr.

Best of luck to all of you, if I can do it anyone can
Only wonderful positive things await you : ) when you stop smoking.
