dented car door - rust growing

Does anyone know roughly how much it will cost to get the rust removed from my car door? I made a small dent in it and the paintwork has come off and now its going rusty underneath. My car isn't worth much, so I don't even mind about the dent as long as I can stop the rust.
    Any info much appreciated!

small tin of curerust and a touch up spray from Halfords? It will only be surface rust I'm guessing..won't look pretty but cheap

If you don't care how it looks you can smear grease (or Vasoline) on the rust and that will stop it spreading.

My guess for the price is €149-99.

Using a wirebrush/ coarse grade sandpaper, rub the rusty spot down until you get shiny metal. Feather out fro that with a finer grade sandpaper. Now either fill the dent with bodyfiller and sand down until it is flush with the rest of the panel or skip this step and sand area down with wet and dry. apply a few coats of primer, sand down lighty with wet and dry between coats. until oyu have a mirror finish, then go to Halfords with your paint code and have them make up a can of spray same as your car. Apply a few even coats and finish with a can of lacquer if needed.
    total cost around 50 notes.
Final quality...depends on time and patience, but if youv'e the time it can be a satisfying process.
This is the DIY forum after all...
