hdd needs formatting

    Hi all,

    External Hard drive saying it needs to be formatted-1Tb Iomega with 500g used-is it fecked?

    what do i do please,any advice hugely appreciated

    Thanks for the reply-

    I'm concerned that it could be a simple problem like a dodgy usb connection-saftly plugged it out-put it in other usb port-files are there-but HDD seems very sluggish and making erratic noises-should i buy a new HDD-transfer files and reformat,or would you say the HDD is on its last legs???

    I'd say it's time to backup (while you still can). Then run a test, i.e. with HD Tune.
