I have got to say I liked this episode, but if Deborah just forgives Dexter because he did that kill for her, well that's a little weak.

Still, the kill scene at the end was easily one of my favorites. Dexter screaming **** and shaking was hilarious and how quick he got down into his face was great. Really enjoyed it.

That was an awesome episode!! I laughed my ass off at the end when Dexter was imitating yer man.

I literally can't wait for when Isaac and Dexter clash heads!!

Just watched the recent Homeland and the recent Dexter. A whole load of meh from me for both. Maybe its me and my current mood?

Wrt Dex, aside from him getting his ass kicked, not alot happened. I seriously doubt Deb will just go, "Ohhhh-kay, I get you now!". I am looking forward to Isaac and Dex locking heads though. Their swap of words last week was better than most of this weeks episode.

The forced suicide scene was hardcore though.

That was a brilliant episode IMO. This season is such a marked improvement on last season. It is building hugely so far, though almost no mention whatsoever of Lewis this episode.

No doubt they'll remind us in every conceivable way when the time is right though

Great episode but Dexter is getting ridiculously complacent.

His original plan was to enter Speltzers caravan, kill him in it, and then drive off with his remains inside and dump it? All this when he just escaped custody and surely was being tracked?

Also where did he learn to fight? The amount of times he has been in a 1v1 situation against much bigger men and came out on top is crazy.

That Speltzer guy was more interesting than I first thought, although I dont know how he finds and maks his crazy mazes.

think Speltzer was on roids and took dexter by surprise, he also seemed more clever than the others until Deb pushed him,

Wondering if the english chap will be as good as trinity he has the makings it seems

I did think at the point where he said "This will be the kill room", where are your plastic rolls?

It was mentioned in an earlier season that he has a black belt in BJJ or Brazillian Ju Jitsu. He can handle himself in a fight.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. I like the way Deb is questioning Dexter about Trinity and Rita, it would have been stupid if it was glossed over.

One thing that slightly annoys me though is that Dexter never seems to think about being killed, even when Speltzer was chasing him in the maze, like maybe a fear of dying and not being there for Harrison.

I wonder will the blonde woman end up being a sidekick for Dexter?

No, because that may be considered as harassment having been supposedly beaten to submission.

He was obviously only at the planning stages. He never goes around carrying roles of plastic with him, especially in the daytime to somewhere where he thinks he might use. That's been shown in lots of episodes.

Maybe he's just evolving his killing methologies, the cremation, the slides, he's changing and adapting. Ugh oh, I've been watching too much Criminal Minds.

Great episode, I'm really liking this season so far, loved the last scene with
    Dexter and Deb.

    Dark.

I really wonder about that too. That could really put the cat among the pigeons. Deb just about accepts him and is starting to deal with her feelings towards him, when hot blondie appears and starts cosying up to him.

Could be some good stuff to come.

I'm a 90's kid, and this is by far the most I've been "into" a TV series since the programs that I watched when I was younger. And given that it doesn't take much to interest you when you're young, it's quite the feat that this program has managed to sustain the level of intrigue and anticipation over the 6 and a bit seasons. On to this episode, thought it was brilliant, and like the OP said, it was hilarious when Dexter was screaming and shaking to mock that guy.

I'm totally confused about whether I'm liking this season or not. It's not doing a huge amount for me at the moment, but that could be down to me be so disappointed by season 6 and I feel it's being totally outclassed by Boardwalk and Homeland which air on the same day. I think I'm just looking for some of the magic of season 4 to reappear somehow.

That said, I like the new Russian mob boss. His scene's are probably my favourite in the show now. And I'm interested to see where Quinn and his stripper end up, most likely in death for her I suspect.

Might be better off taking a break from it and watching it all together after it finishes.

This has the best the show has been since Trinity IMO..

    Am loving it this year!

I'd been inclined to agree with Basq, this series reminds me of season 4 in some way.

It's all building up quite fast, so I hope that it doesn't get out of hand too quickly.
Really enjoyed the latest episode, I think we'll briefly see Deb seem like she's ok with what Dexter is doing, before changing her mind and wanting him to stop again.

I can also see Dex turning to her for help if things start to go bad with Isaac

Forgot about the reference to Quinn's past which we haven't heard much about since season 2 when the Asian chick was trying to get Deb to go rat on him but they never really confirmed or concluded it.

The club boss told him to take some money and some blow for old times sake. This will definitely add to the intrigue over the coming episodes.

Liked the episode, but one thing is annoying.

Dex and Deb continually having "conversations" within earshot of the bleedin police station.

They are also dealing horribly with the Harrison situation.

Shooting scene was tense as hell.

Glad they got rid of Speltzer quickly, he wasn't strong or interesting to be a whole season baddie.

    Russian guy is gay!

Epsisode was good enough. Had a laugh at Dexter mocking him at the end. They still need to spell stuff out though like when Blondie walked into the station. Yes, we are following. We know who she is. Its a bit tedious.
The whole forced suicide thing was a bit dull. He could have at least took one of them out in a defiant attempt to see his family again or something. Was like, ok this Guy is going to be forced to shoot himself, then dragged it out a bit. Hopefully Batista looks into it further and it may come out why Quinn wants to leave it be. Maybe he took him up on his offer. A few twists would be nice. Everything seems a little easy and obvious.

Why would he take one of them out. It was spelled out he was a working man who worked to take care of his family. If he took one of them out he was going to be killed and his family killed. He was a family man not a tough ganster. I thought it was a good scene. Highlighted the power those people have.

I wondered why he didn't shoot them. He had a loaded gun, he could've shot all three of them they were so close. It was still a good scene though.

Was there a gay relationship between Isaac and Viktor or a Father/Son one?

I think that's part and parcel of the whole "I have no real feelings" thing; also at first he intends to be defiant and has no intention of running away, but ultimately does when he sees yer man has an axe.

Some family-man bartender vs. three frequent killers? He *may* have managed to plug one in the end before being annihilated by the other two. Also I think it'd be fair to assume that his family would be dead right quick after that.

Wasn't sure if they were brothers or gay lovers. Although the way Dexter's being going lately, could easily be both.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

I definitely took it to be a lover thing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

It's definitely "lover" - in typical subtle as a sledgehammer Dexter style, Isaac was wearing a pink shirt in the scene where he was looking at the photograph. Pink on a man = gay.

Also, he took that photo out of a frame, where it was hidden behind a picture of Isaac and his wife/gf.

Why hide a picture of your son behind a picture of your wife/gf?

That was Doakes  who had a go at Dexter asking him what kind of blood splatter guy had black belts in martial arts...remember that headbutt scene? :D

Man I'm still pissed they killed him off.
