03 PASSAT AUTO 1.9 TDI lost power and black smoke

    Hi All,

    Just suddently my passat had lost power and black smoke coming out with bad smell of burning oil/diesel. ANy idea what could be the issue here?

    just came back from a mechanic he used VAG device and it showed some turbo sensor has gone. any idea if some expert can throw here as to what could be the problem?

    Vw diesel is the problem.

    Did he give you the name of aforementioned sensor?

    Not so. I've a VAG engine in my car, had cost me nothing but regular servicing costs.

    The same happened to my Audi 1.9TDI last month, it was the EGR valve, sometimes they stick but I had to replace mine as it was stuck in an open position.

    200 euro for the part,
