I have heard of people parking somewhere on the way to up Tounntina and doing hill runs to the top and back. However I have no idea where they are. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Thanks but that didn't give the location of the run itself.
Also those co-ordinates are actually for Ballina Co. Mayo!

I never knew that was the name of it
I just called it the hill with that unmanned signal station :pac:

Yes, it's a great place for a run

Easier to get there from Ballina then Portroe, though I think you know this

There is parking up the top, drive up the top and run from there instead of trying to squeeze into a ditch down the bottom

    Directions from Ballina

The private road on the hill is about 2km long but is pretty steep, a few goes of this would be a good workout.
You'll meet a few cars but otherwise it's pretty deserted up there.

If you want to go off road well you can use whatever route you want

The fact that it's a private road makes ideal for runners

A longer run would be using the marked walking route from Derrycastle on the Ballina Rd and running up that and onto the hill

    Would be a tough run.

I'm certain there is a marked route down there but I couldn't find it on google maps

This is a good link I think
