    Hi all,

I've been looking into viewing the Northern Lights via this package http://www.icelandair.co.uk/.

Have any of you been Iceland and seen the lights?

    Walrus

Been there lots of times. Its a wonderful country to visit.
IcelandAir do good package ex UK. You can also try Wallace who do direct from Dublin but more limited packages. DIY is also a good option for more flexibility.

Were you impressed by the lights?

I've looked into DIY but the package seems cheaper considering flights are roughly 250+.

Not so much, much more impressed by the country itself. Remember if the weather isn't good, you could very likely not see the lights at all. The scenery is amazing, volcanic landscapes, great hiking trails, wonderful nature.
Packages are cheaper but they are restrictve in terms of duration and where you can go, ie. Reykjavik based only. It's a balance of cost and what you want to see.
There's lots to do and see. You should have a great time.

There's a thread about the Aurora in the Weather forum, I think a poster there IanCarr has recently been to Tromso, he'd be well able to advise you, knows a lot about them.
