    Hi there,
Does anybody on here know any sites for getting Aircraft Maintenance contract work in canada? Did my training on Mostly boeing 737 and 767 with over 8 years experience. I also have experience on a wide variety of A/C. Also i am currently working in an Airbus Production facility building wings. So now i have production experience.
Or anyone have any experience of getting any work out there?
Going to Calgary, Alberta in March.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm sure there's plenty of work to be found in any area of industry in Canada. Perhaps you could check Air Canada, Calgary Airport or a maintenance facility located on site at the airport.

I hear that Boeing has a factory in Calgary I think or it could be somewhere nearby. You could check that out too.

A friend of mine was just enquiring about same at a Canada jobs/trade fair and he said that while there are jobs available in Canadian aerospace, from top to bottom, the money is not better and often worse than here and living conditions are much harder, especially if you go further North. Also, you'd have to join the queue, as Canada has no shortage of aircraft techs and pilots and they'd get priority over foreigners. there is plenty of work in other mechanical industries, if you are willing to go North.

    Thanks for the reply.
Im going to alberta with a friend and its just for a year so Ill not be looking for permanent work, I was just thinking if it was easy to get contract work it would be a handy way to make some quick cash. Going further north isn't that appealing since its just a year long holiday on a sense. It does worry me when you say theres a no shortage of Techs, I thought it was one of the more sought after qualifications out there? Where did you hear this? Maybe it was austrailia I was thinking of?

    hi there
My friend used to work in aviation in Canada and has been considering emigrating but the Canadian guy at the trade fair, once he heard that my friend had rail engineering experience here, advised him to forget aviation and go for rail work in Canada. Apart from that, without Transport Canada accepting European certs, you might not get anything worthwhile.
