    Isn't this still a PSO route? Agreed though, 8 people isn't great on a place that can hold 48 people. Sure up to about a year ago, this route was operated by Ryanair using 189 seat 737-800's, no wonder they pulled the plug

    You seem to see quite a few these of minor technical issues with Aer Aranns ATR's..They must be getting on a bit now. No wonder they've recently ordered 8 new ATR 72-600's..

    1. Its a PSO route - normally not commercially viable.

    2. ETD was 08.00 on a Sunday morning - only a few hardy souls up at that time.

    In fairness this one was due to a bird strike. I was more concerned about the loads on the route than the actual engine failure, REA crews have shown themselves more than capable of handling the odd engine failure in recent months. How RYR managed to fly a 738 on this route up until last year seems mad.
