TV not working with VGA

    Hello all,

I'm trying to connect up a Windows Vista PC to a Beko LCD TV.
The TV has a PC input (VGA) on the back and when I plug it in, the TV says "OUT OF RANGE"

I've tried changing the res to 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x768 all with the refresh rate of 60Hz.
When I set it to 800x600@60Hz and plug it in, the picture flashes up on the TV for 1 second and then goes blank with the same message "OUT Of RANGE".

The PC is a Dell Inspiron 530 running Vista with an Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset onboard graphics.
All windows updates have been done and all drivers are up to date.
The TV model is Beko nr 32wlu520hd and I don't have the manual for the TV.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

On the PC try 1324 x 768 as the resolution and see if that helps.

I thought I could try 1366 x 768 but it's not coming up as an option in the list of resolutions. Neither is 1324 x 768. It's an annoying problem

Have you tried changing the refresh rate?

Have you tried changing the refresh rate?

The annoying thing is that I can't really change anything while its plugged into the TV as I can't see anything. So what I've been doing is setting it on the monitor and then swapping the cable over. I assume this works.
I have changed the refresh rate and still, no good.

Is it not possible to connect both monitor and TV at the same time to that PC?

Tried doing it for the brother in law but I bleeive for some reason the Dell laptops, old ones anyway you cant connect to the TV for some reason.

IF you google connecting Dell Inspiron to TV you should get a good few discussions on this topic and why you cant do it.

May be some else knows how to.:)

It is possible even if its a desktop or laptop it doesn't have a the right type of vga, it could be just one to hook up to a computer monitor and not to tv's.

I beleive this is an issue with dell, they never wanted there computers to hook up to other media outputs.

As I said you only have to google it.
