saorview problem

Basically I was trying to install a saorview box at my aunties and I hooked it up, HDMI into tv & box, aerial into the box and power it up. Then when trying to do the first time installation after set up is done it says that the antenna is not connected (none of the channels in the populated list are showing at all). I then pulled an old spare tv from a bedroom and checked the aerial was working and the picture on the 4 channels is perfect. So i thought the box was broke, i took it over to my house and I can get it working on 1 of my old tvs fine, but not on another tv in the front room where it is giving the same aerial is not connected.

Our houses are like 10 miles apart and should be using the same Mount Leinster antenna.

If anyone has any advice or ideas it would be greatly appreciated, I have a decent knowledge of tvs and satellites but I am lost here.

Any masthead or distribution amps in the setup overloading the tuner in the receiver?

Mt. Leinster Saorview has issues atm. The signal on UHF channel 45 is out of band for a lot of UHF aerials installed for reception of analogue TV3 & TG4. There is also the possibility of interference from the Preseli transmitter in Wales.

Both these problems will be resolved on 26th October when Saorview starts up on UHF channel 23 (current TG4 analogue).

I'm not sure on the amps issue Cush, I will look into that thanks for the idea.

Also Peter does this mean if I set it up now on Tuesday it will need to installed again as the frequency is changing?

The channel 45 transmissions will be turned off on Nov. 7th. There's a thread dealing with Mt. Leinster issues: latest info. is here.
