Air in Solar System

    Hi

We have solar panels heating our hot water tank. Afte about a year using i noticed that the pump was quite noisy. So i called in the builder of our house and there was air in the system. That was about two years ago. Noticed its getting that way again now. More air in it. If i switch off the pump i can hear the bubbles...

Called the builder and he says i will have to get someone else in and pay to have it serviced...

Im wondering how the air is getting into the system? Is it normal over time for air to get in?

It would really depend upon what system parameters/components are installed, such as is the pump station a single stream or a dual stream, the latter having an automatic purger built in? Is there solar rated AAV installed? Has the system over heated and perhaps released pressure? Was the system correctly purged from day one? Too many installation factors to give an accurate prognosis without seeing the installation.

    Hi
Is the system still working heating your water?
What make of pumping station was installed as some of them have built in flow meter's which can make some noise giving the impression that there is air in the system.
