    Hi guys,
I wish to add a site to my host file at C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\ to block it on google chrome. But it is stopping me saving it as I am required to be logged in as the administrator which I am!!!Any ideas?

Your account may have administrative rights but you're not likely "logged in as Administrator". Run Notepad as administrator (right click), say Yes when prompted by UAC and open the hosts file from there. If that doesn't help, then chances are that the hosts file is locked by your anti virus software.

Thanks for your advice Torqay, managed to do it in the safe mode. However it does appear to block the stupid website, advised it would definitely do same??Had to install nanny for google chrome.:(

Google Chrome tends to ignore Windows HOSTS... disable DNS prefetching, clear Chrome's own host resolver cache (chrome://net-internals/#dns) and blocking sites/domains via HOSTS should work just fine.

Ta Torqay tried that, does not appear to work for Chrome.Using Nanny for Chrome.
