12 month visa for Thailand

anyone out there got experience with applying for a 12 month multiple entry visa for Thailand?is it a difficult process?whats the criteria?how long does it take?how much does it cost?do I have to apply in Ireland or can I apply in the UK for eg.? any help would be much appreciated,thanks a mil

There is a 12 month visa aimed at retired ex-pats who don't intend to work there and you must be over 50 yrs old to get it.

If you are under 50 and you want to go there for an extended holiday then the longest visa you can get as far as I know is 60 days.

However you can get a 1 year multiple entry non-immigrant visa for visiting friends, familty etc. However you have to leave and re-enter the country every 90 days and if you leave and re-enter as required it is extended to 15months.

There is also a Thai Consulate in Ireland but their website is has less info than the UK one.
