Anyone interested in starting a Muse cover/tribute band?

Mods, I'm aware this should be in the music forum, but I'm looking specifically for trinity people due to easyness of practices. :)

Right yeah, I'm a bassist looking to set up a Muse cover band with gigging etc. So I need a vocalist, guitarist, drummer and keys player, though the later isn't really required. Also the reason I specify Muse is a) they're my favourite band and b) I have enough effects to get very close to 95% of Chris' tones.

Considering the band tone is very important, so please don't pm me if you're just using a clean tone...

    As for what I'm using...
Boss LS-2 to blend effect with clean (exactly as Chris did on Showbiz and OoS). One chain goes to EHX Octave Multiplexer and EHX Russian Big Muff (exactly as Chris does, and I'm using the same settings as him as taken from various pics of his board.) This then goes to EHX Enigma. Chris doesn't have this but has a similar pedal. The other chain goes to Boss OS-2, which Chris used on Showbiz. Everything then goes into a Boss Bass Chorus, which isn't really a Muse thing, but I like it and I can use it on Map of the Problematique.

So basically, I have every Showbiz tone nailed, every OoS song minus Darkshines and Recess. Things get tricky from there on. My TiRO and Hysteria tones sound nothing like the tracks, though at stage volume only hardcore Muse fans will notice and/or care. I can't get the Take A Bow tone, but my Starlight and SMBH tones are IDENTICAL to the recording. My Uprising tone is very convincing. As for The 2nd Law, everything is pretty accurate minus Madness and anything overly electronic.

So yeah. I'm sure I've come across as a pretentious prat. I assure you I'm not. :) If you wanna jam, give me a shout! :D

Surely it would be more fulfilling to branch out a little, maybe try something new.

My originals band is on a break for the next while, so this is just something to pass the time.

That sounds cool! I'd be interested. I've been playing guitar for nearly 9 years, know loads of muse songs. I wouldn't call them my favourite band but they'd definitely be up there, going to see them in two weeks and can't wait!!
As for effects/accuracy, thats a different story. Don't have a very sophisticated set up, and never really put much effort into matching exact tone.
But would still be very interested

Hey man, sounds good! Going to the gig myself and can't wait! :D

Just wondering are you a vocalist as well? I'd do vocals myself but can't falsetto so kinda defeats the purpose haha.

Don't suppose you know a drummer who'd be interested or anywhere we could jam? :D

Nah don't really sing, and definitely not falsetto! Can't think of any drummers unfortunately, do you live in Halls by any chance? Music room would be handy

I've only being playing guitar for over a year; I live in halls and would be interested in playing with you guys for practice if nothing else :) I have a ****ty amp and some pedals, but I now use Rocksmith on my laptop w/ good quality speakers. :pac: With Rocksmith, you have so many professional tones that can all be assembled digitally; it's awesome and can be used with bass too ^^
