Pump hot supply

Replacing a ST 1.5 neg head, fitted during a refurb by a builder. The rubber hose on the hot side to the shower spilt and leaked. It was at a terrible angle putting strain on it also the hot supply to the pump is too hot. Oil boiler and immersion set high. No point in putting in a new pump and same happens again.

I was going to fit the giacomini r156 mixing valve for the new hot supply. Set to 60*C. The pump must be able to vent back with non returns on the supply side. Never done this before I'd usually fit a myson TCV or electric valve and stat but there's little room fora bypass. The r156 doesn't appear to have non returns as I can blow freely back thru through valve at any setting. The r156-1 does appear have non returns tho. Hot may not enter the pump any higher than 65*C.

What would be your opinions on this or am I thinking about it too much?!

Just set your stats to 55c, no need to have them higher than that, then your pump will b safe and do will the temp at the other hot outlets

There's an elderly lady in the house so the oil stat is set to 75 for her because shes ill, 55 would not be enough to heat the house anyway. The immersion is ok I can set that to 60. Thanks though
