Why do some societies charge undergrads but not postgrads?

Just wondering why do some societies do this? I know of one in particular and as it's free for postgrads it's basically their society. Just a bit annoying if you're actually interested in some of the things the society does yet you have to pay while the majority of members get it free.

Name and shame! First I've heard of this.

Chemsoc, I'm just curious as to why the membership fee is only applicable to undergrads and the event ticket charges, again only applicable to undergrads. It's not a lot of money but it's just annoying.
