analogue working great/nothing on Saorview

    Hi,

I can get rte 1/2, TV3 and TG4 perfectly on analogue with both the attic aerial and an indoor aerial, but on Saorview I get nothing with the indoor aerial, and with the attic one all channels tune in automatically, but then no image appear, but I sometimes get some sound.

I have an old enough TV so I bought a saorview box for it.

Any idea what could be wrong, do I need to get the arial in the attic adjusted or replaced?

    Many thanks,

    DD

Which transmitter are you trying to pick up? [If you don't know, put your address into here to find out: http://www.saorview.ie/make-the-switch/coverage-map/ ]

    Hi Mark, it's Maghera.

I've just gone through the menus on the SV box and turned some "aerial power?" off and I now get sound and image but the reception is terrible... The radio works pefectly though.

Strange. Could just be the Saorview box is faulty.
Do you know someone with working Saorview where you could bring the box to try it out?

Try plugging out anything in the house that could be interfering with the signal, including cordless phones, wifi or homeplugs.

What is the make & model of this "Saorview" box? Can you see what UHF channel no. the received services are on? (Maghera uses ch. 48.)

If you're getting "perfect" analogue with an indoor aerial, you must be in a strong signal area & you could be overloading on Saorview signal, from the attic aerial anyway, don't know about the indoor one.

    Thanks,

I'll try a different box or bring mine to a friend's house. I can't get the channel number used.

I have a Samsung (le32r87bf) UK tv so I bought a Triax soarview box. When the saorview box is turned on it says "no signal". When the saorivew box is turned off and I have the digital tv turned on I can get the BBC tv channels BUT I only get the sound on the Irish channels(no picture)...what is wrong???

Uhm. Are you still using the tuner built into the TV? The TV is only MPEG2 compatible so will not display video for Saorview, only audio.

Do a scan on your Triax saorview receiver. Or get it exchanged for a different make, as I've experienced problems with a few, similar symptoms.

You need to take the aerial lead out of the back of the TV and plug it in to the Triax box and scan for the channels.
