I'm pretty sure this is what you're after

Zenitar is very reliable, I picked one up myself during the summer and it's a beaut. Must post a picture some time...

Edit: Oops, I presumed you wanted that exact watch. There is a large range to chose from.

    From Russia

    From inside the EU:

I bought a beaut, Amfibia, earlier this year but he strap is too tight for me. I will sell and post it for €50. Let me see if I can retrieve the post where I mentioned it. Yep, here it is...

    Hi Guys,

Went for a Vostok Partner in the end and it arrived today with no issues re customs.

One problem though, went to the jewelers to get a few links removed and while I was there I asked him to set the time and date for me as I never had a mechanical watch before. Anyway he couldn't set the date and said it was broken!

I tried myself later following the instructions on the Meranom website and was able to set it ok (only had to go from the 6 to the 8th), only I can't figure out the accelerated date change instructions is that what the jeweler was refering to?. Any advice?

    Thanks

    the accelerated date change instructions

As the date changes when the hour hand goes over 12/24, keep turning forward until about 2 o'clock, then turn backwards until about 8 o'clock.
If you watch the date window while doing so, you will see it making the tiniest of jerks/movements, that's when the date function is ready to engage again. So from 8 you turn forward again and the date will jump to the next day on 12 ...turn till 2, back to 8 forward to 12 and repeat until the date of choice is reached.

Although Vostok says winding the mechanism backwards will do no harm, personally when setting big jumps in date I make it my point to set the last two days the normal way (turning forward only) to take any potential stresses out of the mechanism ...especially when the watch is fully wound and straining against being turned backwards.

Your jeweller was probably trying to pull out the crown one more step and set the date that way by simply moving the date wheel via the crown, without moving the hands (like on most Swiss movements) ...that simply won't work with this movement :D

    Nice looking watch, btw
