Another recommend me thread

    O.k as the title says,

My mother has had 2 hip replacements, the father has had 2 discs removed from his back. They drive a 97 toyota corrolla and the low driving position is killing them as well as getting in and out of the low down seats.

With a budget of €8000 including their own car could somebody recommend me something higher, along the lines of a skoda yeti, peugeot 3008 etc. I know these 2 examples are way too new to be in that price range but something similar.

I have thought of the Nissan X-trail, Rav4, Hyundai Tuscon, Kia Sportage. Fuel economy, tax costs and cost of maintenance are important to them. Am I missing something obvious or are the 4 above the limit of my search?

Qashqais seem too dear, Santa fes are too big.

    Thanks in advance.

Will your parents be comfortable moving from a small hatchback to a jeep though?

The Honda Jazz is the best out there for this. High driving position and very easy to get in and out of, great use of space inside while being small outside, even more reliable than the Corolla, and easy to drive.

Is the tuscon for example any longer than a saloon corrolla though? I honestly don't know. A high car would do too.

I was just thinking of the Jazz too. With the jeeps above, your parents might find them as difficult to get in and out of as theie Corolla as they are actually quite high

First of all, the 97 Corolla should be sold privately as you will get nothing for it from a dealer as it is very unlikely they will retail anything of that age. If it is in decent shape it will sell easily as there is demand for cheap Corollas of that vintage. Then go and avail of a straight deal discount on the new car.

I think the suggestion of the Honda Jazz is a good one, they have a higher driving position and their space is very versitile without being bulky or awkward like a SUV.

On their budget you should be able to get a 2009 new shape Jazz like this:

Dacia Duster? I think they are a bit over budget though.

I'd get them to buy a jazz if I were you. If they're used to an unburstable corolla, be very careful what you recommend.
