Anyone know if Normende's are still on the AI list? Or if anyone has any? We went to northern France on hols a few times when we were kids and the fields were full of these "speckly cows" as we used to call them. My dad was fascinated by them and actually called into a few farms to find out more. we actually spent a full afternoon driving around tring to find a farmer that spoke english. Our AI man actually had a few straws so we tried them we ended up with one cow (the rest were bulls) and I remember she was huge compared to the friesians (lots of people thought we had a bull in the field).

She wasnt the biggest milker volume wise but always had good quality milk and used to throw nice calves from i can recall. Anyway i was thinking what would they be like as sucklers as they are essentially dairy cows but bigger?
