I have always been quite skinny but I have never really been concerned about it as I have alway been a healthy weight. The thing is I really do have man boobs and they just look terrible, I think it runs in my family as my brother has them aswell,

I am only young and not very sexually active so I never made an issue out of it but i'm really aware of it and wold be very embaressed to get naked for a girl

is there anything I can do about them?

If you are a normal weight but have manboobs, all you can do is go to a doctor and seek medical advice.

If your doc tells you that there is nothing wrong and you may just need to exercise, get yourself a bench press! My OH had the same problem and was really really self concious about it, to the point where he wouldnt take his t-shirt off! But he bench presses everday now and it is making a difference!

They have very decent 2nd hand ones on the likes of Done Deal and Gumtree :) have a look dude :)

You may have gynecomastia or false gynecomastia, the difference being one is related to diet the other is a condition. One way to tell the difference is to feel around your nipple, if you feel tissue in your breast (hardness as opposed to soft fatty tisssue) chances are you have true gynecomastia. While diet and exercise will reduce the problem no amount of bench presses will get rid of it. A surgical procedure is required to remove the breast tissue. Diet and exercise will reduce appeareance as stated but only to a point. Seek medical advice from a GP to get the condition diagnosed properly. If you have true gynecomastia an op can be performed through health service free of charge by referral from a GP. In this process only breast tissue is removed there is no lipo of fatty tissue. You would need to go private to the many cosmetic practices to get both done. As this procedure is cosmetic and not life threating you would be waiting a while to get this done through the public service and given the current state of health service I doubt this would be a priority. I believe privately this could set you back 6-7k but dont qoute me on this. There are many threads on boards on this already though a lot are old. This op is fast becoming very popular for men according to cosmetic surgey websites.I would suggest you see your GP first. If you choose to go the private route a quick google will get you practises that will perform this in Ireland and eastern European docs who will perform this cheaper than their Irish counterparts. I hope this helps.

Intresting you should say that, I went to the doctor many years ago because I felt HARDNESS around my nipple, I went to the GP but he just said it was hormones. Maybe it's somthing more....

As this thread has now moved to medical advice which is forbidden under site and forum rules we are closing it.
