We always bring the dog to the usual spot in Cratloe Woods in Clare, but I would like to find somewhere new to go! Preferably somewhere with a bit of water so she can have a swim, but anywhere will do. So I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestion :) Thanks!

Hi you should try Curraghchase, lots of water & nice long walks :)

I thought about that but it seems a bit too far of a drive, would probably spend more time driving than walking! Im in south Clare so by Limerick I meant the Clare side of Limerick if you know what I mean :) I was thinking of going to someplace like dromoland but I dont know if dogs would be allowed!

It's private property and I don't thinks dogs are generally welcomed on golf courses.

Have you considered Doonass? There are some lovely walks there and you have the river.

Also consider the Clare side of the UL campus.

If you park by the Lame Duck Pub, just past the Old Burlington factory/National Kart Centre. You can walk over to the UL Campus from there, it's just over the humpback bridge and turn right to the walkway. Have a look on google maps.

I've had my dog out in dromoland a few times, you're not on the course so nobody complains.

I used go to cratloe before but had too many issues with people leaving there dogs off the lead out of control haha I walk the Ardnacrusha Canal bank now! its 8km from Ardnacrusha Bridge to Clonlara and back! its nice and quite so can leave them off lead without any worries! I also go out past broadford on the way to Tulla there are some nice wooded walks out there too :)

I didn't mean walk her on the golf course  Isn't there a whole wooded area that the public have access too? I remember going there with a friend and her dog once.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I'm sure we will find somewhere! I think my uncle has just brought her off to Cratloe again today but next time I'm walking her I will definitely check out the suggested places. She loves Cratloe but has gotten into too much of a rut there, would be nice to give her someplace new to explore :)
