Sorry for being thick but Ive been up and down that list 3 times now and I cannot find the Astra 2 satellite, likewise Ive put a load of satfinder apps on my phone aswell and I cant find it there either, there are a few Astras in a big long list of hundreds of satellites and I assume its one of them, whats its number eg. 178.06 E or else its exact name please?

If you put in an Irish (or British) location, does it not appear at no. 1 on the list of 'Most Popular Satellites' as '28.2E Astra 1N/Astra 2A . . .'?

There's a separate listing for Eutelsat 28A @ 28.5E. The lnb skew figure for this satellite is different than the Astras.

Ah crap I never thought of changing the location, thanks Peter, why do they refer to it as Astra 2 if its called Astra 1/2a/2b/2c, Im guessing every single person that aligns one for the first time gets caught by that.

Astra 2 group are at 28.2East (It also now includes Astra 1N a new narrow beam satellite that houses the BBCs and will house the Ch4s and 5s). Not to be confused with Astra 1 which is at 19.2East.

You will generally find that the elevation of the dish will be 22.1. Look at the direction of your neighbours satellites for rough idea for direction. You cannot miss it when aligning, its very strong.

Got a signal meter and a very good looking app on the phone now so it shouldn't be too much hassle, thanks.

The satellites are listed in order of their orbital slots. You only have to find 28.2/28.5 east.

Satellites originally intended for, or stationed at, one orbital location can end up at another, often temporarily to provide emergency capacity. Astra 1N will eventually go to 19 east, as was originally planned. Astra 2C has been at 19 east for some time now.
