Hi allI have a seals 1911 pistol ( cheap clone I know but I love it!), its given me nothing but trouble but I just can't part from it. Any way all issues have been resolved except the outer barrel has come detattached from the pistol.
I've tried everything from washers, glue, soldering and nothing's work either the cold ( it's gbb) or the blow back eventually knock the outer barrel off while firing.
Anyone got a once and for solution that doesn't involve" binning it and go get myself a TM 1911"?
    Cheers

Hope this is a good enough picture , it's the silver outer tube that should fit over the brass inner barrel housing ( and stay there!!)
Cheers Thermo, any help would be appreciated .

Have you tried a silicon based glue to keep it in place, they are very resistant to shock and temperature change.

EDIT:For some reason the page didn't load the replies so please ignore my first draft

It's a seals brand ( china clone), ill try the silicon glue if that fails then your right the only option left is a new barrel attachment , cheers lads.

if you know any mechanics/steel fabricators you could try ask them to braze it, its a long shot but maybe worth thinking about, failing that you could try ring around the retailers and see if they have anything in their "graveyards".

    where was it bought

I repair cameras and lenses and I use the same glue Canon and Nikon use around their cameras called Cemendine super X as it is a really good adhesive and very shock absorbant (they use it to hold the mirrors on DSLRs which come under a lot of shock/vibration during use).
When solid it hardens but has a rubber feel to it so it would be perfect for this application.
That glue is expensive though so I'm sure there would be other cheaper silicon based glues available (not sealant).

By the look of the picture the outer barrel slides over the second part. If that is the case and there is at least 1-2cm of overlap then that glue will hold it steady. If there isn't enough overlap don't waste your time with the glue.

Try bonding putty (epoxy), I use this on plastics to steel and I swear by it. It sets like concrete and can be sanded if need be.

Failing that like thermo said get it braized or TIG welded at a fabricator's, they could probably turn it down after if there is any excess weld you would not even know it had been done.

Yep , all good advice, thanks lads I'm spoiled for choice now!!
Hopefully have it up and running again, in fact It worked without the outer barrel but was just paranoid about the accuracy as the inner barrel was just there "wobbling"on its own so to speak.
Bought it at RSOV many moons ago (about 2 years now)

You can get epoxy resin in both Woddies or B&Q in different setting times from 5 minutes to 4 hours
