John Kenny Apologising for Tony O'Donoghue on RTE Sport News

Just heard John Kenny apologising for the sports report this morning in which Tony O'Donoghue alleged that John Delaney had (earlier this week) said that Giovanni Trappatoni was going to be removed from his position as Irish manager.

You think with the Father Reynolds thing that the RTE staff would not be as loose tongued. Would have been funny if they'd got Mary Wilson (O'Donoghue's ex missus) to apologise on his behalf.

Didnt hear Drivetime but did catch the reveal this morning.

He just came out with it all casual "...........a senior source in the FAI widely believed to be John Delaney".

Was that just naivity by Tony O'Donoghue (incredible if so), or is there an agenda of some kind (support the Indo possibly for some reason)

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. Hopefully it might knock a little of the arrogance out of him.

John kenny......jaysus takes me back to when he got the job presenting the "metal show" because he knew someone who owned a motorbike. He could barely read the names of the bands and also had no idea what he was playing!

He also managed to mooch himself a nixer on BBC R4 long wave with the Test Match Special guys doing some commentary on the 20/20 World cup.

    Not good.

O'Donoghue? He never stuck me as being particularly arrogant... Kenny, maybe more so... He's particularly ratty when Mooney starts interrupting him and asking him really stupid questions..

TV3 had to issue an apology as well last night.
Looks like reports of Trap's demise had been greatly exaggerated.

Yep. Smugness personified. I'll never forget his insensitive questioning around James McCarthy at the time of the Euro squad announcement.
McCarthy's father was dealing with cancer treatment at the time. McCarthy therefore made himself unavailable for selection to spend time with his very ill father. O Donoghue asks Trap if he could at least join up with the squad at some point later in the tournament.

Another poster backed up my assertion.
