Getting an antique valued?

    Hi,
I have an antique Royal Doulton meat platter that has been smashed by a removal company :( . I now need it valued in order to make an insurance claim.
Can anyone direct me to someone who can do this in the South Dublin/Wicklow area and give me an indication of what this valuation might cost?

    Thanks.

Stick up a pic and we might be able to tell you whether it was worth much and where you might try for a valuation. Joe Mullen (Laurel Park) just north of Bray might be a good place to try and he is hardly going to charge for a valuation. Why not email him a pic and follow up with a call?

If its for insurance purposes you will need a written valuation with a company letterhead, most auction houses charge €10-€20 for this service which you can get a receipt and you can claim for aswell

Make it clear to the valuer that valuation is for the cost of replacement and not an auction estimate as there is a big difference
