    a question for the experts

the wiper on the driver's seat of a 2008 corsa hits the side of the car

when the glass is dry it wont hit it, but when its wet it does

from a quick search it seems this is a common issue on corsa's

opel told me that from a quick inspection (basically just shaking the wiper from the outside) the linkage needs replacing and we were looking at around 500e including fitting

i have to take it to another garage on saturday to see what they say

anyone else had this issue and came across a cheaper fix?

    thanks

Go to an independent garage, or mechanic, and get a GM linkage for a fraction of that.

    ;)

Was the wiper ever off the car at any time ? sounds like it sitting on the wrong notch

I'd agree with the diagnosis of linkages needing replacement, if there's any shake or play in the wiper that's a pretty good indication. I've the same issue with my car (05 BMW), so I wouldn't argue with that.

I wouldn't be sure on pricing, but if you could get one from a breakers yard, it should be a lot cheaper.
