Using UPC cable from roof?

    Hi guys, I am doing a favour for a neighbour and installing a Free to air satellite receiver and Saorview. There is already a satellite dish and cable coming down from the roof as the neighbour previously had sky, so that's the FTA sorted. For the saorview I plan to mount the aerial on the front of the house and my question is - Can I use the cable coming down from the UPC outlet on the roof instead of running a new cable down. The neighbour currently has UPC digital but plans to get rid of it as soon as this installation is complete, so there will be no need for this cable in a couple of days. But is this cable the property of UPC or the homeowner? Cheers

    Why not use the satellite cable to bring down the aerial signal?

    Use a diplexor (sat/uhf) to combine the two and another one (the otherway round) to split them at the TV. Simples!

    Look here for the type of devices that work. Other suppliers have them.

    Thanks for the reply Sam, I ended up just running down a new coax anyway. I never new that those displexor things existed... Will definately be picking up a few of them.
