So how is everyone fixed for slurry storage this winter? I managed to get a few loads out here on Tuesday, but the rain that night filled two tanks because of a blocked drain in the yard. There is only 12 days left before the deadline and land is impossible to drive on. Any comments folks?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

hmm same story as usual, side of shed where i keep cows will be full probably before jan, pure headache every year, tank too small. as for spreading a few loads, no chance of that really for the time being anyway

spread 50k gallons 1st of October and commented to myself we were down to the last 100k gls, spread another 50k last week and we still have 100k to go. with all cattle in it is really a nightmare. I will be able to get it spread but guys in the wetter lands are in trouble. Probably get some on maize ground which isnt good practice but what option have I been left with. Also have a couple of heaps of dung that I wont be even able to get near to spread bar 10 dry days

A few loads put out. We had to blow it sideways off a road we have along the wall of the meadow, if we left the solid ground we'd never again see the tanker :o

It was well watered down stuff, just to make a bit of space more than anything

Passed a farm the other day in west who appeared to be pumping it up the fields. Fairly wet ground so he didn't stand much chance with heavy machinery.

i've thrown some from road over walls in the last week too. still need to spend 7/8 days spreading.
in my eyes the ground has been wet since they granted us the extension so it would be a joke if there isn't a further extension.

also i was spreading last year, beside a river, beside the main road, a fella spent an hour watching from the road, then took photos and left. never heard anything about it though.

Got a few loads of water out yesterday, I reckon with one load there was more muck on the tyres than in the tank by the time I reached the fekkin field.
