Clutch Problem

I have a 2004 Vauxhall Corsa and yesterday I had to drive through deep water. The water was about 15-25 inches deep in places I would say. I drove through it steadily in 3rd gear and 3/4 of the way across the car stalled. I restarted and made it through the rest of the way in 1st gear and drove on perfectly fine everything working great. Today, I got in the car and started it fine. I went to go into first gear while the car was on but it wouldn't go into gear, or any gear for that matter. When I dry to go into reverse it makes the horrible crunching sound. I turned off the car and went into first gear when it was off and it went in fine then but when I attempt to start it in gear it just coughs/splutters and stalls. What could be the issue and would I need a new clutch and how much would that be?!!?

    Clutch is definitely dragging.

Maybe water seeped into the clutch hydraulics and ruined the fluid/seals. (Unless it's a cable clutch in which case I'm stumped)

Any ideas on cost of repair for that?

Actually thinking about it more. It was prob about 12 inches at most. But still, not a great idea in hindsight.

Just went and messed about with the gears there and managed to get it into 2nd gear with the car started. Took off a little bit and every other gear then worked miraculously!
