I am going to Bangkok on Sunday for 3 nights and would like to get a couple of good work suits.

Can anyone recommend a decent tailor that could turn around in 72 hours?

Gulati tailors on Soi 3 off Sukhumvit a few hundreds metres from the Nana BTS skytrain.

I have never got a suit made in Thailand but I did visit their shop and they make some real quality looking stuff, more expensive than your typical tailor shop there. They even made a suit for George W. Bush so they must be good!

I don't know about how long it would take them but from my travels in Thailand and having spoken to people, the longer it takes a tailor the better it should be ideally with multiple fittings. You will be pestered in Thailand with offers of suits usually by Nepalese and Indian salemen.

On Sukhumvit you will be haggled often, "I make suit for you sir", "I have Tuk Tuk for you sir", "Massssssage" :D

I've used a guy on Sukhumvit Soi 11 a few times. Excellent suits and really top quality shirts. I'm sure 72 hours wouldn't be an issue although I've never been in much of a hurry and have had 3 or 4 fittings each time.

He doesn't stand around outside hawking and certainly doesn't claim any BS like making suits for George Bush

The sign over the door says New Royal Fashions. If you want directions etc. just PM me.

How much are you talking for a suit?

I have heard he is good, and everything I have read about the place is positive, GWB got his suite there! plus what I seen of his wares looked good, I took a nosey around his shop last April.

The guy is after quality something which is lacking in alot of the tailor shops in Thailand and he is paying about a typical months hotel cost for a few nights in a hotel so I figure he is after something good even if it is that little bit more expensive.

I paid about €450 for 2 suits last year. I could have paid up to €550 but I was happy with the quality of the cloth at the price I paid. Could have paid less also but didn't fancy the cheaper fabric.

There are hundreds of tailors in Bangkok so a recommendation is the best way to pick - a friend of mine sent me to this guy.

    Enjoy the trip

I would like to recommend Toms Fashion. They are Very friendly and helpful. You pay a bit more than at most of the tailors' in Bangkok. But it's definitely worth it! I bought 4 suits, 3 shirts and three tie, and I am very happy with them.

Thanks Tom. Where are you located?
