    Well lads & lassies,

Time for Dalken to pay his GC membership fees, €110 this season. I was wondering what other people are paying? No need to name clubs just what ye are paying and the county you're in if you wish.

    Cheers
    Dalken.

€80 including insurance..... €20f in another club.

BTW The fund year runs from July to July with the NARGC so I assume your with CAI or others otherwise you weren't insured for shooting between July and now.... Your only insured when your on the system.People often forget this..

As a matter of interest, how many people are in your clubs? With only three in mine including myself, costs are pretty high!

Can you tell us how such a club is organised? I'm very interested to know. Our club over here has over 250 paid-up members, with over fifty applying to join to add on top of that. Of that number, we fully expect to see around 35 or so finally become full members in the fulness of time.

As my club is situated in the UK, it's pointless telling you how much it costs, but military veterans, old farts and the disabled get an accumulating discount on the fees, as does being an NRA-authorised RCO. As I fit into all of those categories, my annual fees are small potatoes indeed.

Mine is in the North of Ireland and I had to start it myself as there wasn't a local club to begin with. It started on millenium morning when the rest of the country was dying of a hangover, the three of us where out hunting. The next season we wanted to put something back and released a dozen pheasants. From there the club has grown and has permission on around a square mile of ground. We do vermin control, dig flight ponds, habitat improvement and release around 200 head of game, between pheasants, partridges and duck. It was and still is hard work. There are no local shooters apart from ourselves, but there's a good few young kids in the area that might take it up one day and they're or anyone else who's local know they're welcome to join. It would help keep the costs down as well as help with the work! Presently, it takes about £400 a man to run it.

Mallard, thank you for that. What you have is what we would call a managed rough shoot working consortium. I'm very impressed by the amount that you have put into it with such a small but dedicated group of like-minded folks!

More power to your collective elbows!

Do yourselves a favour and get affiliated to BASC, and if possible, to NARGC over the border -Des Crofton, if you are looking, is this possible?

Best wishes and applause for all your hard work.

Thanks Tac, we're all BASC members but wouldn't mind being affiliated through the NARGC.
