    Hi all,

I've managed to leave my visa debit card at home while i'm in college. I need to travel home friday. I was wondering, if I bought a ticket online with the card (getting the numbers from it over the phone) would I be able to get the actual ticket in the station without having the card present.

I have a student travel card if that makes any difference

    Yes,,You can...

As your doing the booking, there is a part where it asks you where you want to pick up the ticket from.

Just select which station you'll get it at,,and enter the number that has been sent to you when you go to pick it up.

If you have a student card you can get the student fares at the station on day of travel or you could do it the way above.

Yes,you setup an account with them...It's free,,and only takes a few minutes.

They then send the ref number to the email address you provided when you do the booking.

    Simple. :D

If you are getting a student ticket, you must have a www.studenttravelcard.ie

If you buy an adult ticket (can be cheaper) on-line, you are stuck to the departure times you select.

At the moment you don't have to have the student travel card - they have the following offer on

    http://www.irishrail.ie/cat_offers.jsp?i=4479

    What ID is required?
Students can avail of these promotional fares by presenting one of the following forms of valid identification:

College ID (T&C's for full card requirments)
    USI card
    Student Travelcard
    Leap Student Travelcard
    International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
Freshers simply present your college acceptance letter (T&C's for requirments)
Where can I Purchase a Student Ticket?
Student fares can be purchased from

    Booking Office
    www.irishrail.ie
    Ticket Vending Machine (TVM)
When purchasing on a TVM and using a college id enter the number 123456 when requested for your Student Travelcard number.

You wont need your credit card if you have already bought them.
If you have a reference number then you can pick your tickets up at the ticket machine, just press "Prepaid tickets" and then enter your reference number and it will print out your ticket. If you arrive at the station and have lost or forgotten your reference number then go to the info desk at your departing station and they will give you your reference number if you have proof of who you are i.e something with your name on.

You can change your train times on the day for €10 supplement.
