    would anyone know what would br wrong with a car thats petrol but sounds like a diesel and isint losing power oil and engine light is on its a astra also cheers

    Check the oil level first?

    Have you checked the oil level when the engine is cold and on level ground?

    oil level is perfect i am thinking its the oil pump the oil was just changed lately

    Was it the correct oil for the car?

    If there was an oil pump/oil pressure issue then the oil light would be coming on.

    ^^^on an Astra petrol engine, I'd go with that as the likely scenario as the Opel engines are prone to getting noisy if they have been poorly maintained or let run low on oil regularly.
