Removing a Full page mall ware pop up screen on boot.

    A screen pops up on boot requesting immediate payment UCash etc . How do you remove this? I cannot access task manager. Using Windows Vista. Full copy of Nortonn installed but not doing anything

    Download OTL to your Desktop
    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files here

    The Pop up appears before the scan completes, would this make any difference?

    Dose the scan it work in the background?

    It may cause OTL to crash, the scan should only take 3-5 minutes. If its running longer than that, can you try run it in safe mode

    the father in law had this too a couple of weeks back

    starting in safe mode is the only way to get it done without being interupted by the virus.
    All is now well on his computer now thanks be to god.
    McAfee did its job, unfortunately they didnt stop the virus getting installed in the first place!!
