Quick PS3 Question

    So I loaned my launch (40GB) PS3 to my girlfriend's brother for the year whilst I was travelling. I'm skeptical about upgrading the hard drive as it's so old but I really want a big one for PS Plus etc. I've never had any problems with it up until now though. He still has the PS3 as he's playing Skyrim and in my devious nature I thought about selling/trading my Halo Limited Edition Xbox 360 console to get a new Slim or Super Slim. Crazy? Would it be silly to upgrade such an old machine or should I sell the 360 and get a Slim/Super Slim? I can't seem to get into the 360 at all. There's just too much clutter, advertisements and repeated info across each metro tile. Not to mention PS Plus will give me a hefty amount of games for free.

    My girlfriend thinks the idea is a bit mad as I already have a PS3 even though it's not currently in my possession.

    First option would be to upgrade the HD - it's simple and HD's are relatively cheap now.

    Could you sell the 40GB to your gf's brother and put that money towards the new PS3?

    Last option would be to sell the 360 - good exclusives on it, however if it's just collecting dust, get rid.

    Yeah, some good exclusives I suppose. I'm in HMV toying between different 360 games and also the Super Slim. Pretty good deal here tbh: 500GB PS3, 3 games and a HDMI cable for 299. Damn!!! Decisions decisions. It could be too rash to get rid of the 360 alright. Aaahhhhhhh!

    It cost me €55 at the time to buy a 500gb hard drive for my 40gb ps3 so its a lot cheaper than buying an unnecessary new ps3 when in a year or two the new on will be out

    plus xbox exclusives like halo, gears of war and the like would seem mad to me to sell when all is needed is a €50-60 hdd that you install by taking out one screw, but that's just my opinion :)
