New Year's Eve - Ireland

3 single girls (early 30s) looking for somewhere to celebrate NYE!
    • Has to be in Ireland but not Kilkenny, Cork or Dublin.
    • Within 3 hours drive of Tipp if possible
    • Ideally we'd like one venue which maybe has live music, the countdown and then a disco. Don't really want to be moving from pub to pub. Killarney INEC has been suggested but may be full of teenagers?
    • While cost isn't a huge issue the town/city needs to have good accomodation options. €80 ppn for accomodation roughly.
    • We'll probably stay the 30th and 31st Dec; would like some shopping options as well.

Places suggested so far have been Galway, Dingle and Killarney.

    Thanks for all suggestions.

How about Waterford, there are some lovely hotels in waterford and if you book now you should get a good deal.I booked room only in waterford for two for 30th and 31st December and got it for 82 euro for the twoof us.
    Wexford is another option.

Thanks Mrsbouquet, tbh I've never heard great things about going out in Waterford. Wexford might be an option though. I'll look into it.

Was going to suggest Wexford but I see you're already considering it. Good reasonably priced hotels In Whites, The Talbot and the Ferrycarrig. Good selection of bars and restaurants. I'd imagine the Centenary Stores would be the place to be at midnight. Also nice shopping area by day.

Well my son is 30 and often went to waterford for the night life. I like it for shopping. As for wexford we live there. You should try alpha rooms or trivago for the best deals.:)

Kilkee isn't too bad on New Years Eve. Not sure about hotel accomodation there though.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Think we've decided on Galway since none of us have ever been there. Found a good deal on apts. near the city centre.

Any ideas on good pubs/clubs to set up in for the night?

    Dingle!

Fireworks, midnight parade through the town, countdown (via projected clock) in one of the main squares - best place I've been in Ireland for new years.

The Front Door (will be jammers though, always is, can only imagine NYE) is prob one of the best pubs in Galway, The Quays, The Dail...anywhere down that end!

Clubs wise...Halo is your best bet, caters for over 25's.
