Emigrated, Non-Resident Savings

I moved abroad after graduating and have an ok job now. I'm saving what I can as I go and in the interest of diversifying my savings and playing the exchange rates I'm occasionally transferring some of my US dollars into euros.

What's the best savings account for non-residents at home? I'm transferring it to my bank as it's easiest but that's a current account so no interest. I have a credit union account also and I'm interested in the An Post savings options although they seem not to be available to non-residents.
